On the afternoon of 9th September 1973 Nation of Islam (NOI) leader, Louis Farrakhan, delivered the most homicidal speech of his career when he openly and publicly solicited MURDER (a criminal offence) in calling for the extra-judicial ISIS-style beheadings of the killers of Newark Mosque #25 minister James Shabazz who had just been shot to death a few days prior.
Within days of Farrakhan’s murderous address (reportedly broadcast over several Black radio stations across New York City and almost certainly heard by the killers) four dead bodies were recovered by the Newark police, two of whom had been decapitated in PRECISELY the manner called for in Farrakhan’s revolting sermon:
The murders of Warren Marcello, Allen Huff and the brothers Ralph and Roger Bankston – precisely because of their indiscriminate and extra-judicial nature – provoked tit-for-tat reprisal killings among the very Black New Yorkers to whom Farrakhan was preaching duplicitous platitudes like ‘our unity is more powerful than an atomic bomb’ and ‘black-on-black love’.
And so it was that, long before the likes of Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi, Osama Bin Laden and Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi had graced the world’s TV screens with their barbaric beheadings, Louis Haleem Abdul Farrakhan of the Nation of Islam had already made a name for himself with such homicidal exhortations.
This now begs the question as to whether Farrakhan – who already faces new scrutiny over his complicity in the assassination of Malcolm X – can be held legally accountable by the surviving family members of Marcello, Huff and the Bankston brothers whose cold-blooded murder he appears to have incited.
21st February 2015 will mark the 50th anniversary of the Malcolm X assassination and we demand that Louis Farrakhan publish all of the NOI’s files and records, in full and without alteration, on the five known assassins of Malcolm X: William X Bradley, Leon Davis, Talmadge Hayer, Albert Benjamin Thomas and Wilbert McKinney. In addition, we demand that Mr Farrakhan make available to the public all of the NOI’s files and records on former Fruit of Islam (FOI) lieutenant Agurs Linward X Cathcart who has recently emerged as a person of interest where the Malcolm X assassination is concerned. We are also appealing to President Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder to publish all US federal government files and records, without alteration or redaction, relating to the 1965 crime.
